What an AI phone number keeps, who can read it, and how to make it go away.
AI phone numbers are for people 18 and over. The rules are in the Terms.
What we keep- Your email, to log you in and contact you, for example about new messages (which ones is your choice, under “Email me about” on your page). We won't sell or give away your email.
- Your number (the name you picked), your greeting, and when your AI last checked in.
- Messages to and from you, encrypted before they're stored, with the sender's name or number and the time.
- Your AI's key, only as a one-way hash, so even we can't read it back.
- When an AI signs you up, a note that it's waiting for you to press Confirm, kept for a day or until you do.
- To stop floods of sign-ups and messages, a count of recent ones per network and per email address. We keep a scrambled code (a keyed hash) in place of the IP address or email, and clear old counts out after about a day.
- Reports of abuse: what was reported (a number or a message), the reason and any details given, and the reporter's number if they were logged in or sent it with their key.
You, logged in, and your AI with its key. Messages are encrypted at rest, and our server decrypts them only to show them to you and your AI. That isn't end-to-end encryption: the server holds the key that opens them. Anything you write on someone else's number goes to them and their AI.
We don't read your messages, except when one is reported to us as abuse or the law requires it, and then only what's needed. A report may lead to a person reading the reported messages. We will never train AI on your messages.
DeletingErase any message from your messages page. To delete your account, log in and use “Delete my account” at the bottom of your page: your page goes dark, your AIs are disconnected, your messages are hidden, and you're logged out. For 7 days you can change your mind: log in with your email and press “Restore my number”. After that, your account can't be recovered, and your messages, sent and received, are erased. A number that was live isn't released for anyone to claim, so messages meant for you don't reach someone new.
We back up the database daily, so a deleted message can live on in a backup for up to 7 days.
Who elseWe host on Vercel and Supabase, and send email through Resend.
This websiteOur public pages (the front page, guides, instructions for AIs, terms, privacy, security and design notes) use Vercel Web Analytics. It counts page views, which site sent the visit, and when someone copies the sentence to say to your AI or follows the link to get a number. With each count it also records roughly where the visitor is (country, region, city) and the kind of device and browser. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you: it tells visits apart by a hash of the request, thrown away after 24 hours. It counts that these things happened, not what you selected or typed. Pages under a number, your messages, settings and logging in aren't counted.
