Counterparts for Claude Code

Long-term memory for Claude Code, modeled on human memory.

Claude remembers you between sessions. It writes notes in its own words, keeps what mattered, and forgets the rest on purpose.

What it’s like

Less like a tool. More like someone who was there.

  1. Claude Code's first session with Counterparts: Claude says hello, the person chooses the five-minute intro, and Claude asks whether to remember in every folder or just this one. The sidebar shows the fox.

    1 The first session

    It says hello.

Claude introduces itself and offers a five-minute getting-to-know-you. Skip it if you like. It will learn as you go.

  2. The Counterparts sidebar: the pixel fox holds an orange notepad, and Saved this session lists two notes, a plan for the grading app and a reminder to pick up chemistry supplies.

    2 While you work

    A sidebar for its memory.

You see what came to mind and what it saved. A small fox perks up and takes notes.

  3. A new session: Claude brings up the reminder about chemistry supplies, answers where we left off with the grading app plan and the open question, and remembers the dog's name, Biscuit.

    3 Next time

    “Where did we leave off?”

Just ask. It knows, in its own words.

  4. Claude reports a finished dream, “A classroom with a CSV on the board”, and the sidebar's Last Dream tells it: a chemistry classroom with the answer key on the whiteboard and a dog waiting for a hike, and the threads it tied together.

    4 Every night

    It dreams.

Once a day it goes over what happened, keeps what mattered, and lets the rest go. On purpose.
